Volunteer

CCN could not function without individuals and groups who give their time to our programs. Whatever your schedule, we can use you! One-time, long-term, as well as opportunities for group participation are always available.

All volunteers need to fill out and return CCN’s Volunteer Application.

**Please note, all volunteers over 18 who will be interacting with children will be asked to complete and pay for their own background checks. This can be done through the Colorado Bureau of Investigation website for a nominal fee.

For Individuals:

Data Entry/Office Assistance

We are always in need of assistance in our busy office. You would be helping out by answering the phone, entering data and printing out thank you notes.
Date(s): Monday through Friday
Time: 10am-2:00pm
Minimum Age: 16 years old

After School Program Volunteers

We are currently looking for volunteers to work in our After School Program Mondays through Thursdays helping children with homework, reading aloud one on one or in small groups, and playing games. Additionally, anyone interested in accompanying our kids on field trips or swimming are also welcome on Fridays.
Date(s): Monday – Friday
Time: 3:00pm – 5:30pm
Minimum Age: 15 years old

Access to Services (Motel Outreach) Volunteers

We are currently looking for volunteers to assist with our weekly motel outreach. We visit 2-3 motels every Wednesday afternoon.
Day/Time: Wednesdays from 3-6pm
Where: 2-3 motels on Colfax Avenue
Minimum Age: 18 years of age

Parent/Child Education Program Volunteers

We are currently looking for volunteers to facilitate and help with Parent/Child Education Program.
Time and Day: TBA currently looking for a leader for this program

Summer Camp Assistant Volunteers

Monday through Friday from 9am to 3pm, we provide healthy food, activities, and field trips for 25-35 kids. Camp assistants help carry out activities and build positive relationships with kids. Minimum Age: 16 years old/14 years old with adult

Adopt a Field Trip

Adopting a field trip involves providing funding and/or volunteers to a field trip that is chosen in collaboration with Nathan Hickman, CCN’s Children’s Program Coordinator.

Community Night

Groups and organizations who wish to volunteer one time or multiple times throughout the year may participate in our monthly community nights by setting up, cleaning up, and assisting with activities for the children in attendance. Family nights commonly occur on the 4th Thursday of each month and the time commitment for volunteers is from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.

Fall and Spring Cleaning

Colfax Community Network works and plays hard, and periodically we need outside help to come in and improve, clean, and maintain our program and office space. The dates for these events are flexible.
