This quarterly outreach program is intended to support one local charity group who has made a positive impact within the community. To help us take home this quarter’s prize, please log-on to Facebook, “like” Citywide Banks page and then vote for CCN and your job is done! CCN Needs You!
Colfax Community Network is currently busy preparing for our annual Easter celebration and is aiming for a record turnout this year! Saturday, April 7th, we invite you and your family to join the festivities at Del Mar Park at 6th & Peoria for an Easter Egg hunt. We are still looking for a couple generous volunteers to help us coordinate the chaos, and donations of candy, baskets, play-grass, and small toys (i.e. bubbles, jump ropes, silly putty and balls) are still desperately needed; you can arrange donations or volunteer by calling 303-360-9175.
Our Food Bank needs your help. January and February tend to be slow months for donations and this year is no exception. Our hygiene products desperately need to be replenished. If you have any soap, shampoo, toothpaste, shaving cream, floss, and/or any other hygienic products (or perhaps know someone who does) to donate, we would greatly appreciate the contributions. And while you’re here dropping off those supplies, take a moment to consider signing up to volunteer for our After School Program. Mondays and Thursdays are the biggest necessities currently, but we’ll accept any extra help we can get. Call us between 10am-3pm, M-F, if you can help.
Family Night 2.0
We at the CCN would like to remind those who still haven’t experienced our revamped Family Night to join us at the end of the month, Thursday, March 22nd, for a warm meal with a side of stimulating conversation. With the help of Mike Green of the Denver Foundation, we are planning on adding a new feature to the evening that we believe will strengthen the bond between families and community. Following dinner, participants will engage in a communication circle where they can be in community with one another. The topics range from family and children, to schools and housing, to job experiences and aspirations; no subject is off-topic and everyone is encouraged to share and respect others’ voices and opinions. CCN Keeping Pace
Quick update: CCN’s progress on the Colfax Marathon is going smoothly as we have already signed up 18 runners. Sponsor a runner! If you would like to sponsor a staff member or child running marathon weekend, please visit our website and donate or send a check to us directly at PO Box 202377, Denver, CO, 80220 (please include a note indicating you want to sponsor a runner). Our goal is to raise $2000 dollars for the charity run. If you decide to participate as a runner in the Colfax Marathon, please don’t forget to designate CCN as your charity partner.
