Impact Numbers

Colfax Community Network had a busy year with people in the Aurora area continuing to feel the struggling economy and numbers of homeless or facing homelessness on a steady increase.  Thanks to our donors, volunteers, partners, and hard working staff we were able to directly affect the lives of 13,776 people dealing with difficult life situations. The Motel Outreach program reached 1104 people of which 358 were children, all of which live in hotels along the Colfax Corridor.  The Food Bank helped 3133 people from going hungry during 2012 while our After School program gave healthy snacks and homework help while providing a safe environment to study and make new friends.  Our Easter program last year served 1140 children and we hope to make this year even better by increasing the number of children who are able to enjoy the festivities of Easter.  Our summer food program in 2012 was a huge success serving 3360 meals during the months of June and July and this year the plans include serving 1000 per day in collaboration with the non-profit and faith based community in original Aurora.  Our core programs continue to be the main focus of Colfax Community Network with 4,374 served between our After School program, Parent Child Education, and our Summer Field Trips.   One of the most important numbers for us is that out of the 13,776 people served in 2012, almost 80 percent of them (10.798) were children.

News

We are pleased to announce the arrival of a new part time staff member at CCN.  His name is Clay Smaine and he brings with him five years of Peace Corps experience along with a Bachelors Degree in Sustainable Enterprise Management and is currently working on a Masters Degree from the University of Denver in Alternative Dispute Resolution.  Clay is also fluent in Spanish which will allow CCN to better deal with the Spanish speaking population. He will be helping to coordinate volunteer work and outreach work while helping with all of the other programs at CCN.

More News

Guidestar is one of the most respected resources for potential donors as it gives the donor insight into how each organization spends money and requires that a non-profit spend less than 20 percent of the total budget for salaries to receive their highest rating.  We are proud to announce that Guidestar has given us the Guidestar Exchange Seal which also shows our commitment to transparency.  Network for Good, Volunteer Match, Idealist, and Crowdwise have all given us the highest rating for non-profit groups and donations can be accepted through any of these organizations.

Wish List

We are always looking for personal hygiene products for our clients and we have a hard time keeping up with the demand. We need shampoo, soap, lotion, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and toilet paper.  We also accept any donation except for large furniture, if you would like to make sure that we can accommodate your donation please call 303-360-9175 to speak with us so that we may arrange a time to pick up large donations or make sure that someone is available to fill out an in-kind donation slip for anything you may have.

Thank you

Colfax Community Network depends on your help and donations to feed and assist the homeless children and families in Aurora. We highlight the contributions of some of our amazing partnerships here.

T3Media (formerly Thought Equity Motion) is a Denver-based video management and licensing services company. In December employees from Denver and Wyoming gathered coats, shoes, non-perishable food and hygiene products for CCN at the company holiday party.

St Pius X Aurora continues to be one of our most active partners, not only helping every week with contributions for the food bank but also providing us with some of the most wonderful volunteers available.  We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping to make our work that much more powerful.

Noodles and Company(13700 E Colfax Ave Aurora) donated food for our monthly family night dinner in February through The Junior League.

Payless Shoe Source Big thank you to Payless for 20 pairs of shoes for Colfax Kids!

Without all of these partnerships our work would be much more difficult so we thank everyone involved in the work of Colfax Community Network, without you none of this would be possible.
